Beach Vacay (Post 5)

Some more of little bit playing on the beach

Enjoy!

This particular day I was not having much luck with getting her to look my way with the camera...
Finally she stopped turning away from the camera
Its okay you can go ahead and admit she is the cutest kid ever...or so I think :)
Running...after you have a baby there is no reason for bringing a beach chair to the beach because all you do all day is chase.  So instead of buying a beach chair I recommend investing in very strong sunscreen for your back and shoulders

Beach Vacay (Post 4)

After a few days in a row with 4+ hours on the beach each the threat of rain was actually welcomed so I had a good excuse to keep my fair skinned baby off the beach.  So we weren't cooped up in the house all day my Dad and I took Randal Jean to the aquarium.  Randal LOVES fish so she had a grand time running around pointing at everything saying "ish ish ish"...she doesn't do so well with the f's :)

Enjoy!

As much as I wish she would have just let me take this picture it is nice to know I'm not the only one she squirms away from when the camera comes out
With the big frog
Fish swimming under her feet...you really can't tell in the picture but there was a projector in the ceiling projecting fish swimming in a stream on to the floor.  All the kiddos had fun trying to catch the fish.
Fish, fish, and more fish...or should I say ish!
Big turtle
Although it remained sunny and humid while we were at the Aquarium the storm clouds quickly rolled in (and I mean literally rolled) once we got back to the condo.

Beach Vacay (Post 3)

Here are some more from the beach :)

Enjoy!

One evening Riley, Kacie, and Tyler headed to the beach to surf fish and play frisbee...I watched

Then it was back to the beach in the morning :)

Randal Jean eating Kacie's DQ blizzard....the child usually doesn't like chocolate too much but the last bit of Kacie's blizzard was just too tempting for her

Beach Vacay (Post 2)

This year we had access to a pool while we were at the beach.  Although the majority of our time was spent on the beach we did enjoy some time at the pool as well.

Enjoy!

16m

I haven't given a true update on what Randal Jean is in to and what she is doing in a long time so why not at 16m :)

At 16m Randal Jean....

*Loves to make animal noises.  Moo and wuff are her favorite.  Instead of saying animals names she refers to animals as the sounds they make
*Is very particular about shoes.  She currently only has one pair that she doesn't rip off within seconds of putting on...joy!
*Says "bye" with a southern accent and attitude to boot!!!  Instead of goodnight she tells Matt "bye" before she goes to bed....it hilarious to hear the way she says it with such attitude.  I'll try to get that on camera for y'all
*Loves Yo Gabba Gabba and will chase you with the remote saying "Gabba Gabba Gabba" until you give in and when you don't she sometimes will have a melt down because in her world not watching Gabba is the worst thing EVER!!!! Oh well, she's got to learn she can't always get her way.
*Is getting better at coloring.  It is still very much scribble but she has finally figured out how much pressure to apply the crayon to 1) actually write and 2)not break
*LOVES bath time but HATES having her hair washed
*Still loves her Cobi and Tessa.  She refers to Cobi as "Bubba" which is probably my fault since I am never consistent in what I call him.  She is getting the hang of "Tessa".
*Gets a kick out of sharing her snack with Cobi and will give herself a big round of applause after she feeds him...feeding the dog is not so cute to me but seeing her get so excited about it is adorable :)
*Tries to blow kisses, but for now it is really just kissing the palm of her hand and leaving her hand over her mouth...she will figure it out soon enough
*Is getting much better with feeding herself with a fork.  Most times I let her use an adult fork as the children's forks are good for nothing and just frustrate the heck out of her
*Is easily frustrated when she doesn't get her way or can't quite figure something out
*Is still a pretty good eater and surprises me with some of the things she will and wont eat.  For example she has decided she no longer likes bananas but will eat raw green peppers.  I'd take a banana over a green pepper any day if I were given the choice
*Loves bubbles!!! In the bath tub or blowing them in the front yard
*Loves dirt and will play in it any time we are outside
*Loves the sand and the water
*Is starting to try and climb out of her crib (scary!!!!) she isn't quite tall enough to actually pull herself over but she tries....I really hope not to hear her fall out of the bed in the middle of the night.
*Refuses to say Mama or Nana which is a total bummer considering my mom and I spend just as much if not more time with her than Matt and she is a pro at "dada"
*Loves to go up and down stairs
*Likes to twirl but then she gets dizzy and crashes to the ground
*Likes to tote her purse and plastic golf clubs around the house....at the same time
*Is an absolute joy and keeps us on our toes every second!!!!!

Check it!

We finally decided that teaching a 16m old to look at a tripod was impossible as was quickly trying to explain to friends and family how to use my camera so we booked a family photo session with JAM photography out of Chapel Hill.  Luckily Jordan and Mindy were scheduled for an upcoming beach vacay only a few weeks after I initially contacted them and better yet they were up for doing an early AM photo session with us :)

They posted a couple pics on their photo blog today.  Check it!

Thanks Jordan and Mindy we love the sneak peek!!!!!

Trip to the Zoo!!!

A few weekends ago we spent a very hot Saturday at Tregembo (sp?) Zoo here in Wilmington.  As you may have guessed it is a rather small zoo but still has all your typical zoo animals (zebra, bear, tiger, etc).  Randal Jean seemed to enjoy seeing all the animals, however, due to the heat we didn't get to see all the zoo had to offer as the animals were taking refuge at the back of their cages and fences or sleeping in an effort to keep cool.  If we go back to this zoo we will definitely pick a cooler day....although I think our next trip to the zoo will be the the big zoo in Asheboro some time this fall :)

Enjoy!

Thanks lady who offered to take our picture :)
Although we had the stroller she spent most of the time on Daddy's hip
Some of the animals
Cooling off in the sprinkler....it was hot for us humans too!!!
How I feel at about 445 each weekday...anybody else?
More animals
Popsicle!!! Don't let this fool you....she took about two licks and was done!  She doesn't like very cold things.  I think her daddy knew this all along and used this as an excuse to get it for himself :)
Typical shot of me and my daughter....

Caught with her hand in the....

Randal has been caught with her hand in the dog food jar?!?!  Unfortunately this was not a one time occurance....the child loves to give the dogs food.  Too bad she isn't the one getting told by the vet that the dogs are overweight as it is.  Besides the fact that the dogs really don't need any more food Randal makes an absolute mess when she gets in to the dog food container so most days you will find it on top of the kitchen table (classy!).

Enjoy!
