QT with Daddy

Tilley has been getting in some QT with Daddy watching March Madness

At the Car Wash

With all the pollen in the air our cars were in need or a serious rinsing so Randal Jean jumped right in to help her daddy out :)

Flowers = LOTS of pollen
Helping Daddy
Playing with bubbles is so distracting...

She'd Rather Dance

A few weeks ago when it was my mom's last day here in Wilmington after helping me with the girls for 4-weeks post-delivery (PS-THANKS MOM!) I tried to get a picture of mom with the girls as we have so few pictures of mom with Randal.  Well I guess we will continue to have few pictures of the two of them together.  At this particular time Randal Jean preferred to dance in the rain (drizzle, really) instead of snap a photo with her nana!

Dancing Queen!
Nana and Tilley and all I got of the 3 of them (sigh...)

Playing Outside

With the mild weather we have been getting outside as much as possible.  Long naps seem to follow a healthy dose of fresh air for both girls :)  These are some random pics of the girls playing outside.

Tilley tends to go ahead and start her nap while we are still outside
We have a lot of these linen-like blankets that I love to swaddle Tilley in or use as a shade for the sun when we are outside.  Randal Jean likes to steal these blankets from Tilley and wear them as a cape...it should be noted it is only these blankets that Randal steals...go figure!
And if she isn't stealing her blankets she is trying to get under the playmat with her
 Bubble wand!
 Wide awake :)

Oatmeal Raisin & People Watching

Barnes & Noble sent Randal Jean a certificate for a free cookie for her birthday so just before her birthday I took her to the cafe for her favorite cookie, oatmeal raisin.  We then headed outside so Randal Jean could enjoy her cookie in the sun.  While eating her cookie she was quite content people watching (she must be mine!), however, she isn't a silent people watcher.  As an observant two year old she would call out every time someone would walk by and label them a Mommy, Daddy, Nana, Grandma, or Kid.  Nothing too embarrassing for me and she was labeling most people correctly given their age/gender.  Then an African American man walked by and she says, "strong!"  This was a bit out of left field as I didn't even know "strong" was a regularly used word for her nor was the man actually strong (or didn't appear to be)...rather lanky in build if I don't say so myself.  As her vocabulary grows people watching with Randal Jean could become quite interesting.

 Watching everyone walk by
What Tilley thought of our outing :)

On Her Tummy

One of the biggest differences between Tilley and Randal Jean is that Tilley LOVES to be on her tummy!  A couple weeks ago when I tried tummy time with her for the first time and she fell fast asleep :)  She napped on her play mat on her tummy for over an hour!  In contrast tummy time lasted about 45 seconds with Randal Jean or until I could no longer handle her crying.  Although it is nice having a baby that doesn't scream during tummy time I do wish she equally enjoyed sleeping on her back as that is the recommended way babies should sleep.  I really think that if she was able to sleep on her tummy at night she would sleep straight through, but until she can roll over on her own I will continue to leave her on her back at night when I can't watch over her.

In the Sink

Tilley's umbilical cord stub fell off early at 2 weeks so she has been taking baths in the infant tub over the sink for a few weeks now.  These pictures were taken when she was about 4 weeks old.  She enjoys bath time now that she is able to be partially submerged in the water and stay warm.  She was not a big fan of the sponge baths she had to receive previously.

Tilley Boo

Tilley Boo is what I tend to call Tilley...which atleast includes her name unlike Pumpkin which is what I almost exclusively referred to Randal Jean as when she was tiny.

Anyways we don't want Tilley Boo to get jealous after all those pics of Randal Jean in the last post so here is some of her :)

Randal Jean's 2nd Birthday :)

I took a lot of pictures on Randal's birthday so I thought I would share a run down of what all we did on her big day :)

We started the day with a cinnamon roll for breakfast.  YUM!  Randal hadn't had cinnamon rolls before and preferred licking the icing off to eating the roll itself...not surprising.
By mid-morning Nana arrived and we picked up Chick-fil-a for lunch.  After lunch we got down to the present opening business.  Randal started by opening her cards and then moved on to her gifts.  She only wanted to show Nana her gifts...as you may be able to tell from the pics.
Randal received lots of books...she LOVES books and l love than she loves them so much!
Although the joke was lost on our 2 year old Randal loved her container of "Randal Jean's Mix."  Since ehe is obsessed with trail mix and we are always sorting out almonds I made her her own mix taking out almonds and adding in chex cereal :)
After presents she got some tickles from daddy :)
Loving on Daddy...and what Tilley did while opening presents, sleep!
After presents we headed outside to enjoy the warmer weather :)

Randal loves to blow bubbles...she is finally starting to get the hang out it and can do it on her own
She also rode around in her Barbie jeep.  We turned the steering wheel all the way to one side so that car would go in circles as Randal hasn't figured out steering yet and by not figuring out I mean she doesn't do it AT ALL!

She played basketball with Daddy :)
And played in the '72
After pizza for dinner it was time for cake!  She had a cookie cake decorated with M&Ms...she was only interested in the M&Ms

After dinner she had a bath...funny girl!
And just before bed she opened one last present, Lady and the Tramp.  Both girls cuddled up with Nana on the couch to watch :)
