Outdoor shoes

Randal Jean has a pair of Yo Gabba Gabba slide-on Vans with one of her fave characters on them, Foofa.  Somehow these shoes have become her "outdoor" shoes.  By this I don't mean that these shoes were purchased for her to stomp around in the mud I mean she has deemed them her outdoor shoes herself.  No matter what the weather or time of day she will bring you her Yo Gabba shoes and then walk you over to the back door to go out and play.  I honestly don't know how she has associated these shoes with going outside but she has and it has been difficult to get through to her that a torrential down pour or 8pm are not appropriate times go outside and play....no matter what she has on her feet!!!

It's been pretty cloudy and rainy in Wilmington these past couple of weeks but luckily I was able to take Randal Jean (decked out in her special shoes) out for a brief romp in the front yard before the rain settled in last weekend.

Weekend Visitors

Over Labor Day weekend we had lots of activity at our house.  On Saturday my best friend from high school, Nicole, came in to town with her mom and sister so we could do her bridal portraits and on Sunday Matt's entire family including his brother, Kyle, who now lives in NJ came to visit.  Despite all the activity my camera was a bit absent except for the whole bridal portrait thing :)  Here are two snapshots of Randal Jean with Nicole and her Uncles Kirk and Kyle.

All of Nothing- Dress Up Edition

Remember the "All of Nothing" post of Randal Jean wearing all of her hair bows at once?  Well, the same thing applies to playing dress up.  While at my parent's house this past weekend Randal got in to some of my old dance costumes and insisted on wearing them all at once!  Since she put the tutus on before the leotards my mom had to put the leotards on her head.

Randal's New Toy

Matt's mom bought Randal an infant swing a couple weekends ago and she is totally obsessed with it.  By obsessed I mean she has a total meltdown when its time to get off and the only time she has ever gotten out of the swing by choice was after swinging for an hour and a half!!!  Toddler tantrums aside she is throughly enjoying her new toy :)
