The mullet is G-O-N-E!!! Tonight we took Randal Jean to Ribbet Salon for her first haircut :) I was so nervous about her sitting still, sitting by herself, not crying....but no need to worry because baby girl did great! Ribbet salon is just for kids so the lady that cut her hair knew exactly how to deal with her and best of all there was a tv right in front of Randal to distract her from the stranger with the scissors, water bottle, and hair dryer. When we first started to put Randal in the chair some cartoon was on and the stylist made a comment about what show it was and I mentioned that we weren't familiar with that show but Randal LOVES Yo Gabba Gabba. "No problem," said the stylist as she went behind the front desk and grabbed a Gabba DVD. Um, any place that has a Yo Gabba DVD on tap like that gets an A+ rating from this mama :) The haircut didn't last but a minute or two as the child really doesn't have much hair aside from the mullet, but for the few minutes that it lasted Randal did great!
We will be taking Randal back for some more primping and Yo Gabba in a couple months :) Oh and on top of the fun atmosphere and Yo Gabba DVDs the salon carried all organic products for kids...again, love!

Our Little Gardener
Randal Jean loves to play with dirt, pull up grass, and pick flowers (well dandelions really which I think are classified as a weed...but you get it, right?). Who knows she might be a gardener one day. I would hate to break it to her though that there aren't too many green thumbs in her family tree.
Enjoy!
Enjoy!
Playing with dirt is serious business...just check out those faces!

Look Who We Found!
Even though my brother, Tyler, lives fairly close to us we almost never get to see him. Our work schedules are pretty much opposite so it is hard for us to find time to see each other. One night last week we went out to eat dinner and he was able to tag along :) I snapped a couple pictures of Randal and her Uncle Tyler in the parking lot as we barely have any pics of these two together!
Enjoy!

Best Birthday Present EVER!!!
This year for my birthday day my entire family (husband, my side of the family, and in-laws) all got together and gave me a spot at a Tamara Lackey photography workshop. Their gift absolutely blew me away. Honest to goodness when Matt gave it to me I was more surprised than when he proposed...in all fairness I knew the proposal was coming. You have to understand how much of a big deal Tamara Lackey is in the world of children's photography to really understand why this is such a big deal. The woman literally wrote the book on photographing children. She is brilliant, generous, talented, witty... the list goes on and on!
So I got this GREAT birthday present back in January and after a couple months of waiting attended the workshop in late March. It was a two day intensive on taking pictures and running a photography business. I can not wait to put everything I learned in to action and take this photography thing to the next level.
Thanks to all my family for the best birthday present EVER!!!!
Tamara and I :)

Blake & Angelica Get Married (Post 2)
Ready for LOTS more pics from Blake & Angelica's big day?!?!
They had their reception at the community center in Southport and it was just lovely :)
Enjoy!
Details as we arrived
The Bork clan
All the boys..I think this is while the videographer is asking them "Duke or UNC" (it was the day of the BIG game). The boys weren't too reactive with the videographer although I think Preston is showing that he is a Wolfpack fan instead
Randal being the center of attention....imagine that!

The table decor
This is the exact moment my daughter began to have dreams of her big day! She was a squirmy wormy until Blake and Angelica began dancing...oh boy are we in trouble one day! PS- I think this is why I love photography....years from now when we are planning her wedding I can show her this and say "Honey, this is where it all began!"
On to the first dance
My fave of the first dance
So in the moment
Time to eat....Randal made a mess of her grandpa's plate!
Best Man (Blake's dad) giving his toast...I got a bit teary eyed during this
Blake and his mom :)
Dancing with Avery (Blake's niece)
Everybody dancing!
Angelica and her dad...I got teary eyed even looking back at these. Look at the two folks to the left...I think they were getting teary eyed
Angelica and her dad were certainly caught up in the emotion of the moment...who could blame them
Well wishes for the Bride and Groom!
Randal absolutely refusing to get a good picture with Uncle Kyle
Persistence paid off...
Parting shots before Blake and Angelica took off on their honeymoon :)
We love you Blake and Angelica!!! Message/call/text Matt or I with your new address and we can send you the pictures we have if you like.

Blake & Angelica Get Married (Post 1)
A couple weeks ago our friends, Blake and Angelica, got hitched!!! It was an absolutely gorgeous day in Southport and we were so happy to be able to share in their special day.
Here are some pictures from before and just after the ceremony...more to come tomorrow night.
Did I mention it was an absolutely gorgeous day!
We arrived early to try and get a couple pictures of us.
Us girls love our shoes
The lovely Church
Cool as a cucumber
Randal wasn't too sure of Blake :( (Blake, it's a sign...you should come around more often!)
It wasn't just Blake...she was a little bit hesitant to warm up to everyone so she clung to my legs :)
Grandpa and Grandma Bork
Okay, so the below picture isn't the greatest....everyone is looking every which way, the photographer is trying to position people, etc. But, look at Angelica! She is grinning from ear to ear!!! She is married and all that planning she had been doing for months on end while in NC with a groom in CA has paid off and she is a MARRIED woman!!!
Stay tuned...I have some of the reception to share tomorrow :)

Just Sam
I've already shared this before, but oh well it's worth sharing again :) Matt and his friends from growing up

Untitled
Anyone got a clever title to go along with the below picture...other than the obvious title? Its part of my blogger dashboard to see what google searches bring people to the blog. For example someone searching "Making Baby Food Blog" wound up here ... I imagine they wound up here after a few pages of google search results considering there a plenty of blogs dedicated to only making baby food. But my point is the obvious title might bring some unwanted traffic :)
Clever titles, aside Randal Jean had a great time playing in the pots and pans at my parent's this weekend.
